Valerie Young

Valerie Young is a Director of the 5G Infrastructure Software Strategy for Intel Network Platform Group (NPG). She is responsible for driving the software strategy to bring Intel processors into the Wireless infrastructure with projects such as virtualized radio access networks, Cloud RAN, FlexRAN, and mobile edge computing for enterprise and Internet of Things (IOT). She has led strategies and contributed to parallel and pipeline architectures, both in silicon and software technologies for Intel. In her role, she closely works with telecommunication vendors, operators, application developers and industry forums. Valerie represents Intel at the ETSI MEC Forum, Open Edge Computing, and the Telco Infra Program (TIP). Prior to working at Intel, Valerie worked at NEC, nCUBE and RadiSys with responsibilities ranging from ASIC design, firmware, software and engineering management.

Valerie received her BS EE from Oregon State University, and has post graduate work in optics and communications. When Valerie is not busy with her career and family, she is an avid hiker and bicyclist.

Talk Abstract: The networks are evolving and transforming to handle massive connection of the internet of things. In order to handle the processing, real time decision and improve the quality of experience, computing is finding it's way to the network edge. This presentation will discuss the networks of the future and how the network is becoming personal.
